Simites. Turkish bagels with sesame seeds

It is not necessary to fly to Istanbul for delicacies, because homemade cakes are always the most delicious! Together with TM “Dobryk” we bake traditional Turkish bagels – Simites.

Ingredients needed for Turkish bagels —>

Ingredients:

  1. Organic sugar “Dobryk” – 20 g
  2. Dry yeast “Dobryk” – 10 g
  3. Butter – 25 g
  4. Water (warm) – 500 ml
  5. Salt – 25 g
  6. Flour – 900-950 g

Honey water:

  1. Honey – 40 g
  2. Water – 40 g

For confectionary:

  1. White sesame
  2. Black sesame

Preparation:

  1. Add  organic sugar “Dobryk”,  dry yeast “Dobryk”, soft butter, salt to room temperature water: mix everything thoroughly.
  2. We introduce flour. Knead a homogeneous dough and knead thoroughly for 10-15 minutes. Leave in the heat for 1 hour.
  3. Divide the dough into 6-8 equal parts, form balls out of the dough, leave for another 20-30 minutes.
  4. Form simites, soak them in honey water and carefully sprinkle with white and black sesame seeds, let stand for 50-60 minutes.
  5. Bake at a temperature of 180 ℃, 30-40 minutes.
